I help impactful organisations communicate who they are and what they do.

Hello 👋 My name’s Sophie.

I’m a brand strategist who works exclusively with impact-focused organisations.

With a grounding in the social impact sector and years of senior communications experience, I design and deliver impactful branding projects that transform organisations.

Services

Your brand is the most important strategic tool for developing trust and increasing engagement with your audiences.

I specialise in developing and delivering brand research, strategy, and messaging projects that help organisations connect with their audiences and meet their goals.

  • Conducting research is a crucial first step in any branding project. Spending time collecting valuable research data ensures that:

    • Future decisions are grounded in evidence.

    • You uncover diverse perspectives on your brand's unique value and positioning.

    • The process is participatory from the outset, which is crucial to fostering internal morale and ownership.

I work with clients to design and facilitate brand research projects that evaluate an organisation's strengths and weaknesses. Using bespoke methods, I collect both quantitative and qualitative data about your brand, providing invaluable strategic insights that benefit future branding activities and other business development projects.

  • After gathering the raw research insights needed to develop stronger brand value, the next step is to craft a brand strategy.

A brand strategy leverages the research to answer questions like:

    • What are our core strengths, and are we effectively communicating them to our audiences? What should people know about us first and foremost?

    • What are our obvious weaknesses, and are we doing enough to mitigate them?

    • Who are our key audiences, what motivates them, and how can we better meet their needs?

    • What brand or communications activities do we need to investigate to deepen brand awareness?

  • It’s essential for brands to dedicate time to creating accessible, unique, and engaging language, as this is what helps foster participatory conversations with key audiences.

I work with clients to produce messaging and verbal identity guides that clarify their unique voice. This could include:

    • Consumer-facing language, like straplines and value propositions.

    • Strategic language, such as vision and mission statements, or theories of change.

    • Frequently used language, like website copy.

As more people turn to AI to generate copy, it will become increasingly challenging to craft content that genuinely cuts through the noise and resonates with people on a human level—having a clear and distinct verbal identity is crucial to standing out, creating connections, and succeeding over the long term.

  • I support clients launch new brands and integrate messaging across platforms, both internally and externally.

I also provide fractional communications expertise to a select group of clients, offering guidance on content development and the implementation of effective communications strategies.

What’s it like to work with me?
